This privacy policy applies to:

• the website pauk.io,
• the Pauk Desktop application,
• the related license backend on pauk.io.

3. Data We Process

Depending on usage, we process in particular:

• contact data when you reach out by e-mail (for example name, e-mail, message),
• license-related technical data such as installation ID, country, geo/IP information, launch count, last start, license status, validity, detail status and update timestamps,
• technical access data required for operation, security and diagnostics.

4. Purpose and Legal Basis (Switzerland/FADP)

Data is processed to provide and secure the service, perform license checks, provide support, and prevent abuse or technical errors. Processing follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

5. Cookies and Tracking

We do not use cookies for tracking or marketing purposes. No non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are set.

6. OpenAI and AI Features

The app includes optional AI features. If used, user-provided content may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing. The use of AI features is optional.

7. Data Sharing

We do not disclose personal data to third parties except where necessary for technical operation or required by law.

8. Retention

Data is retained in a legally safe and purpose-based manner: generally only as long as required for the stated purposes, as long as legal retention obligations apply, or until a valid deletion request is made.

9. Local Storage in the App

Some data (for example app settings and learning progress) is stored locally on the user's device.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and object to processing.
